Rebecca L. Thornton, R.H.N.C
Registered Holistic Nutritional Consultant R.Y.T 200Hrs Yoga Instructor (International) Hello all, my name is Rebecca and I am a Holistic Nutritionist and Plant-based Chef based in my new home of Nova Scotia (HRM). I am continually inspired by the power of whole foods and their ability to support healing the body and promote overall wellness. My goal is to empower individuals to take an active role in their health while establishing a connection with the environment, community and food sources. Fundamental to my practice is an integrative approach to health, working alongside other healthcare practitioners to better support my clients. My advice is evidence-based and practical, as I strive to educate and inspire my clients, groups, and a larger community. My ideals are that gradual change and steps to healthier habits can make radical change in a person’s long term health outlook. I’ve always had a great passion for food, and how it impacts not only ourselves, but the ecology and communities around us. I went back to school and graduated from Canadian School of Natural Nutrition’s comprehensive diploma program in 2014 and since then I’ve worked with some amazing clients and seen first hand what better nutrition can do for your life. My focus is on optimal health through nutrition, basing suggestions on a person's bio-individuality with relevant and up to date research in the field of natural foods, herbs, and whole food supplements. I currently work with a The Self Directed Learning Association of British Columbia and Mentoring some amazing students with nutrition and culinary arts as wells as Being a Wellness Navigator for a large Distribution Centre in the Maritimes. I continually work with clients one-on-one and volunteer time with a youth nutrition program in the local area. I offer one-on-one nutrition counselling, meal planning, and group coaching. As well, I offer educational services including nutrition workshops, and cooking classes for both the community and corporate clients. I love to work with all aspect of community education, through private consults, group mentorship, and community-based projects.
